Located at an altitude of more than 1700 meters above sea level, it is the highest Departmental Capital, and in turn, the highest city in the country, it is recognized thanks to its climate, which is pleasant, and cold for Honduran standards and for being home to Lenca culture It is also known as “The City of the White Mantle” for its mists in the winter season.
