Roatán
A PARADISE IN THE CARIBBEAN COAST OF HONDURAS
The island of Roatán is the largest of the archipelago of the Bay Islands, and is part of the Mesoamerican Reef Barrier. The island, 45 kilometers long, is geographically formed by hills covered with lush vegetation, and is located 30 miles from the Honduran coast. Its natural wealth and rich history with the presence of the Mayas and Payas, the Spanish and English occupation, and piracy during and after the colony, has generated the development of the island to make it one of the most visited tourist places in Honduras, and pride of our country to be recognized as one of the world’s tourist destinations.
En Roatán encuentra de todo para todos. Sí bien es cierto la belleza y el encanto de la isla no está solamente en la parte superficial, su mayor potencial está en la cantidad de bancos de coral o sitios de buceo capaz de satisfacer cualquier gusto con los estándares más completos en cada uno de los servicios que se ofrecen a los visitantes. La isla ofrece también desde zonas bohemias hasta zonas de hoteles con sistema “todo incluido”, así como restaurantes, bares y discotecas para los que buscan la diversión y esparcimiento nocturno.
La isla cuenta con “The Black Pearl,” un campo de golf de 18 hoyos, diseñado por el reconocido Pete Dye. Sin duda una experiencia única para los amantes del deporte. Si su predilección es el sol y playa, aquí encontrará playas de arena blanca y aguas turquesa para pasar tardes relajadas. Si lo que busca es agregar algo más de emoción, puede practicar el canopy, snorkeling, buceo, y parasailing, entro otros.
