The Malecon del Cayo project will provide a space for local and international visitors to combine the natural beauty of the Macal River with cultural experiences and culinary delights. The construction of the elevated boardwalk will provide a beautiful 300-metre-long promenade along the Macal River, complete with gazebos and benches, and will serve as a focal point for annual festivals and events.

The Santa Elena River Park aims to become a tourist attraction and family recreational facility, and will be a hub for Belizean artisans to showcase their craft skills, sell local food and provide entertainment, including river tours. Both projects aim to improve the quality of life for residents, but also take advantage of the growing tourism trends in the Cayo district.
