Equipped with high-quality facilities providing tourists with a comfortable experience, the terminal now ensures Panama offers the best maritime connectivity in the Central American region. Built on an area of 88 hectares, the new cruise terminal costs 206 million dollars and is an integral part of Amador’s development plan. The new cruise port, strategically located at the entrance of the Panama Canal, operates under the concept of a “home port”, i.e. a base port from which cruise ships depart and arrive, thus increasing Panama’s competitive advantages in the cruise sector.

Since the beginning of 2024 17 ‘home port’ operations have already been carried out from the Amador Cruise Terminal, with the arrival of more than 23,000 tourists, more than half of whom have taken inland excursions creating a positive impact on the country’s entire tourism sector. The new facility can accommodate cruise ships with a maximum capacity of 5,000 passengers.
